Our Story
The Blast Shop was established in 1998. Located in Kenosha Wisconsin, the Blast Shop is owned by Mike and Nancy Clark, both from Kenosha. Mike and Nancy worked at the nuclear power plant in Zion Illinois, until its closing in the spring of 1998. Upon its closing, Mike and Nancy decided to start their own business. This is how the Blast Shop got started! Mike was not only the owner, but the only employee of the Blast Shop. He worked out of a small space in the couples garage for several months.
With quality work, great customer service and prices no one else could beat, the Blast Shop soon expanded. By spring of 1998, the Blast Shop moved to Hwy 50 and Hwy H, in Kenosha. The new shop was 2400 square feet and 3 new employees were hired.
With continued success and a high demand, the Blast Shop grew and relocated to its current location at 1206 Washington Road. Our current shop opened in the spring of 2003 and expanded to 10,000 square feet. Later, we opened a second facility at 9625-55 Street in Kenosha that houses a 6 stage powder coat line with an auto booth. We now have 11 employees and are continuing to grow!
